Pregnancy Conception
If you want to make pregnancy conception happen for you, there are some very simple steps you can take. The most obvious is getting a fertility monitor, like OvaCue, to help you track your menstrual cycle and peak fertility period. But in addition to using a fertility monitor, you can also follow these very basic pregnancy conception tips.
Easy Things You Can Do to Improve Your Chances of Conceiving
It's one those things they teach us in health class, but we don't always remember later on: sperm can live for two to three days once they've been released into the uterus. This means that frequent intercourse during a woman's fertile period will better the chances of pregnancy conception. The more sperm you have surrounding a fertile ovum, the more likely it is that egg will be successfully fertilized.
Another thing you can do to help the sperm find and fertilize the egg is limit your movement after sex. It may sound funny, but gravity can truly have an adverse effect on your chances of conceiving. If you stand up and become physically active immediately after intercourse, the sperm will have a harder time making their way into the uterus.
In addition to defying gravity, having an orgasm can also increase the likelihood of conceiving. When a woman has an orgasm, the bloodflow to the reproductive organs increases, so everything is likely to function better. Orgasmic contractions also cause the cervix to pull the sperm inward, so it's easier for the sperm to make its way into the uterus--in other words, an orgasm gives the sperm a head start.
