Announcing OvaCue® Fertility Monitor, from Zetek

The world's first and only electronic saliva-based ovulation predictor

Women who are having difficulty becoming pregnant have a new option for maximizing their chances of conceiving. Zetek, Inc., the first to develop saliva-based ovulation prediction technology (FDA approved, 1987), has developed a fully automated fertility monitoring system. Using a small oral sensor to measure electrolytes in the saliva, a handheld "ovulation computer" predicts the most promising time for intercourse—up to seven days in advance—and confirms ovulation when it occurs.

The OvaCue® Fertility Monitor uses the patented Electrolyte Method™ from Zetek, Inc. to analyze hormonal cycles and predict ovulation. Studies show the OvaCue predicts ovulation with 98% accuracy, a level untouched by ambiguous ferning microscopes, BBT charting or LH urine tests.

For couples seeking to become pregnant, advance notice is critical because sperm must be deposited in advance of ovulation for conception to occur. Using an OvaCue also gives busy couples an opportunity to schedule the ideal time for intercourse or AI.

To use the OvaCue, the woman simply places a sensor the size of a quarter on her tongue for three seconds each morning. The handheld unit tracks and analyzes her cycle data for up to four months. At a push of a button, it reports her fertility status for the day and projects the day on which she is likely to be most fertile.

While there are competing products and methods for predicting and detecting ovulation, none of them combine the accuracy, ease of use and the predictive ability of the OvaCue. The OvaCue has the added bonus of not requiring daily urine samples or doctor visits.

The Electrolyte Method is based on the discovery that changes in electrolytes in saliva occur in direct correlation with the hormonal changes that begin the ovulatory process. Its validity has been established through numerous studies, including one conducted at the Colorado University Health Science Center funded by the National Institutes of Health.

Women who are interested in tracking their cycles for a longer period of time may download their data from the OvaCue to their home computer and use the OvaGraph™ companion software available at the OvaCue website.

This method has helped hundreds of couples conceive and is recommended by many doctors and infertility specialists. It also has the unique distinction of being approved by the Vatican as consistent with the teachings of the Catholics church, important for those restricted in their family planning options by their religious beliefs.
